What to do outside when the cold months of the year arrive? Well, usually the biggest issues that come in the winter period is are the dropping temperatures. All the activities that are readily available in the outdoors become a bit more uncomfortable because of the cold weather.
Fortunately, when the snow arrives there are plenty of creative outdoor activities that can be done individually or in small groups that are just as much fun as in the warmer times of the year.
One activity that comes to mind is building a snowman (or any other figure in the snow). Usually, it requires some planning and communication between the people who are building it, as well as coordination and strength to deal with the cold working material. Building snowmen has been around forever, and it is a great family activity which can also be transformed into a competitive outdoor challenge between good friends.
Another outdoor activity for the winter can be going on a magical winter photo scavenger hunt. Set the challenge for the participating group, to capture the best photo featuring the snowy mountains or the icy nature in their surroundings. This will inspire participants to catch beautiful photographs and also boost their competitive spirit while making them forget about the cold.
Some people prefer to leave the competitive feeling out of the task: they can take a relaxing walk around the local woods with a cup of hot tea. Meeting your friends outside in the cold can be extremely refreshing, especially because of the cold crisp winter air.
We hope that some of these activities will inspire you to get outdoors and enjoy nature – even in the cold! ❄️
